CALL – PROGRAMMES AND FUNDRAISING OFFICER

JRS Malta is seeking to recruit a PROGRAMMES AND FUNDRAISING OFFICER to work with the organisation. This document outlines the qualifications required for the post as well as the job description.

Terms and conditions

The selected candidate will be offered a 12-month contract, with the possibility of renewal.

S/he would be expected to work between 25 and 30 hours per week, on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:00, at times to be established by agreement with the organization. Individuals who cannot offer at least 25 hours per week need not apply.

Salary offered will be commensurate to experience.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must:

→     be in possession of a degree equivalent to Level 6 of the Malta Qualifications Framework

→     have experience in developing and managing projects, as well as in preparing project applications and reports

→     have experience developing and managing budgets

→     be able to speak and write English fluently

→     be able to work independently and take initiative

→     have excellent communication and organisational skills

→     be flexible and have the ability to work in a team

→     be willing to work with and for people from diverse cultures

→     possess a driving license (preferably own transport) 

Previous experience in community fundraising and a working knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.

Job description

The selected candidate will be expected to work as part of a team.

The PROGRAMMES AND FUNDRAISING OFFICER will be primarily responsible for:

→      Developing and implementing a funding strategy for JRS Malta with a view to expanding its support base, diversifying its funding sources and securing more stable funding

→      Seeking new sources of funding for JRS Malta projects [project funding] and working on project applications

→      Assisting with project management and reporting

→      Expanding our existing support base in the community and maintaining relationships with our existing donors

→      Raising awareness of the work that JRS Malta does, particularly among the local community, through the organisation of community fund-raising events aimed at increasing support for the work of the organisation

→      Reporting regularly to donors, be they funding programmes, corporate benefactors or private individuals

S/he will also work with the JRS Malta Communications officer to produce written materials and/or publications to make the case for support of the organisation or to report on the organisation’s activities.

S/he will also assist with any other tasks that may be required.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview and to undertake a number of tasks, which may include spending some time in the office in order to better understand the nature of the organisation’s work, before a final decision is taken.
